Turtle Release
Today the South Carolina Aquarium released two rehabilitated Loggerhead Sea Turtles at the Isle of Palms County Park. St. Simon can be seen on the left. On the right and bottom is Lighthouse, armed with a tracking device.

Good pictures, looks like a good turn out. Hopefully they will enjoy a long and good life.

What's the life expectancy of the tracking device?

I meant to update this last week, but I didn't.. :)
Lighthouse didn't make it too far before coming back to shore so he/she is currently back in the Sea Turtle Hospital at the South Carolina Aquarium.
The tracking device is expected to last about a year before it most likely meets its demise by falling off and sinks to the ocean floor.
